Word from Sony’s VP of brand marketing, Guy Longworth, has revealed that Activision will make a version of it’s highly successful Call of Duty franchise available for the PS Vita come autumn.
There was no mention whether the version will mimic the Vita’s older PlayStation brothers’, however the likelihood is high. No offence Activision, but that’s usually the case.
Longworth talks about the excitement contained within his kids on the prospects of a CoD game for the Vita, and then boasts that its “… going to be an absolute game changer for the platform.”
It will be interesting to see what comes of this portable version. Why? Well there has been much talk of cross platform gaming when Valve announced the feature (then removed) from the imminent Counter Strike Global Offensive. And with a Vita version on the horizon, and Sony’s emphasis on cross platform play between the Vita and PS3, you can guarantee they will give it a go.
However, if you are on the go and want a bash on CoD, would you want to play on an open Wi-Fi hotspot? Or even through your 3G connection? Or would you just wait to get home and play on your Vita, leaving your PS3 version out in the cold? I know which version I’d rather play… What about you? Leave your thoughts below.
