Some respect is due for Bungie as their latest blog post offers an apology for recent Destiny 2 Faction Rallies confusion that has caused some issues.
The first issue they covered is a bug with previous Faction Rallies in which you could earn Faction Tokens much more quickly than intended, without firing a weapon once. Plus the recent December 12, 2017 update locked players out from Lost Sector Rewards which will be changed due to player feedback, along with trying not to make players have to constantly run back and forth to a single chest for hours. So that should improve the Faction Rallies experience in the future.
The Bungie apology came as a mea culpa for the way Season 2 weapons are being distributed. It wasn’t made clear that the new guns etc would appear throughout the events taking place in the season, rather than being available all at once. Which led to a lot of players decrypting their Faction Engrams and wondering why they didn’t have anything new as a reward.
With the Faction Rallies ending next week ‘Whichever faction you deem most worthy will be selling their weapon in the Tower as the first offering of Season 2’. And in addition, Bungie will be ‘remedying this lapse in communication next week with details on what you should expect when the next Iron Banner rolls out in Season 2’
There was also a forum post from Bungie to explain more of the details for the Season 2 Faction Rally Rewards. Each faction has received 5 new weapons which become available over the coming weeks.
‘In the first Faction Rally of Season 2 (this week), there is a new Auto Rifle available as the Winner’s Offering. No new Faction Weapons are available through Faction Engrams.
In the second Faction Rally of the season, the Winner’s Offering is updated to a new weapon. Additionally, the previous Winner’s offering (Auto Rifles) and an additional weapon are added to Faction Engram rewards.
The final Faction Rally of the season will follow this functionality: The Winners Offering will be updated to a final weapon that has yet to be featured. The previous Winner’s Offering will be added to the Faction Engram rewards, alongside an additional weapon. This brings the total to four weapons within the Faction Engram, and a final Winner’s Offering for factions to compete for over the course of the event.’
So hopefully that should clear everything up regarding the new Destiny 2 Season 2 weapons, and both the Faction Rallies and Iron Banner rewards.
