The new Arma 3 Tanks DLC will arrive on April 11, 2018 – along with a free major platform update for everyone that owns the game. The name of the game expansion reveals it will focus on mechanised warfare with a new Main Battle tank, new Armored Weapons Carrier and a new Armored Fighting Vehicle.
Also included in the new Arma 3 Tanks DLC will be a short singleplayer mini campaign, and a singleplayer Showcase scenario. Meanwhile the free update will include some new gameplay features, bonus content related to vehicles, more targeting options and a competitive multiplayer mode.
Arma 3 Tanks DLC Details:
There will be three new vehicles introduced with the Arma 3 Tanks DLC. The Russian-designed T-140 Angara is a Main Battle Tank used by the CSAT faction. It’s armed with a new 125 mm cannon which can fire three kinds of ammunition and has a longer range than most Western tank guns. It also has a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun. Alternatively, there is a Commander variation of the T-140 which swaps out the heavy machine gun for a 30 mm autocannon and has sensors to share target data with other units via the Data Link.
Also included is the Nyx Armoured Weapons Carrier. It’s small and fast, and can even be carried by the CH-49 Mohawk helicopter. Originally an example of German engineering, it has been licensed and modified by the AAF faction with four variations. Each has an armour jacket capable of handling 7.62 ammunication but there is different equipment or weaponry for each example of Anti-Tank, Anti-Air, Recon and Autocannon.
And last up is the Rhino MGS Armoured Fighting Vehicle, also known as a Tank Destroyer, with a 120 mm cannon firing standard rounds and the new MARUK ATGM. It also carries a coaxial .338 magnum machine gun, or can come in an UP version with an extra remote 12.7mm heavy machine gun turret, ERA armour and cage.
The Arma 3 Tanks DLC also includes the ‘Altis Requiem’ Mini Campaign which gives you 3 singleplayer scenarios as an AAF tank commander. To give a view of the opposite side of the original Arma 3 ‘The East Wind’ campaign, you’re placed in command of an AWC Nyx to fight against the FIA and then given the opportunity to try out the T-140 Angara Battle Tank. Lastly, there’s the Showcase Tank Destroyers which lets you play as a NATO crewman on board the new Rhino MGS UP.
