Battlefield Heroes

Battlefield Heroes is a free to play third person shooter which was released in 2009, and currently has around 6 million registered users.

It’s available as an online download allowing gamers to personalize their characters, and customisation is available via Valor Points which are earned in game, or Battlefunds bought via credit card or Paypal. As a free play online game, it has been taken in a different direction to the traditional Battlefield games, including updates which allowed vampires and werewolves into the game for a month long Halloween special back in 2010, for example. It’s very much a cartoon take on the shooting action genre.
