Arma 3 might be a pretty realistic military simulation, but Bohemia Interactive has never been afraid to do things a bit differently. In the past that included adding international aid organisations. And now the Arma 3 Contact DLC adds aliens.
The UFO spin-off expansion goes into the realms of science fiction for both a singleplayer campaign and multiplayer sandbox elements.
Playing alone, you’ll become NATO drone operator Aiden Rudwell. On a training exercise in Eastern Europe, you’ll encounter a massive alien vessel to investigate. Which means a mix of conventional infantry battles, operating a mini UGV sampling laser and CBRN defense equipment, and controlling the electromagnetic spectrum with the Spectrum Device.
And whether you’re playing singleplayer or not, Contact adds the new fictional country of Livonia, with a new 163km squared terrain. Along with both the Livonian Defense Force and the Russian Spetsnaz.
Along with aliens, you get 5 new weapons, with the Promet Assault Rifle, RPK-12 Light Machine Gun, AKU-12 Carbine, Mk14 Classic Hunting Rifle, and Kozlice Shotgun. And two new vehicles; the ED-1 Mini UGV tracked robot and the Tractor. In case you fancy ploughing your enemies into the ground?
Finally there are new Zeus Game Master, Combat Patrol and Warlords multiplayer scenarios for the new terrain. And all Arma 3 players will get some free bonus content – including NATO woodland camouflage, civilian clothing and 100+ props and terrain objects.

How to buy the Arma 3 Contact Expansion
If you already own Arma 3, then the Contact expansion is already available to pre-order via Steam and the Bohemia Store for £21.99, with a temporary 10% discount until July 2nd. And you’ll get Sneak Preview Access to the Livonia terrain straight away.
If you don’t already own the game, you can save some money by investing in either the Arma 3 Contact Edition via Steam or the Bohemia Store.
Or there’s the limited-edition Arma 3 Contact Collector’s Edition, which is only available via the Bohemia Store.
