Callof Duty: Black Ops 2 was released on November 13, 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and on November 18, 2012 for the Nintendo Wii U. It’s the ninth Call of Duty game, and is a sequel to Treyarch’s earlier Black Ops, which alternates annual releases with the Modern Warfare games developed by Infinity Ward.
The character of Alex Mason returns from Black Ops and features in various missions set in the 1980s. But the game is split with the main focus on his son, David Mason, fighting in 2025. They’re linked by the terrorist Raul Menendez, and also by Alex Mason’s comrade Frank Woods.
One major change from previous Call of Duty games is that there are different endings available depending on actions and tasks completed in the game. That includes the new Strike Force missions which appear during the 2025 storyline, and which have permanent success or failure states. Those missions can be played in first person or tactical views.
The Zombie Mode returns in a much expanded version. Alongside the original Survival mode is am 8-player Grief mode which features 2 teams of 4 players competing to survive.
