It’s easy to get excited by this new Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer with John Boyega. Not only is it a decent overview of the game by someone who appears in it, along with the films. But Boyega is someone who actually plays games. He originally found out that he had the part of Finn in The Force Awakens in a phone call from directer JJ Abrams while he was playing video games at a friend’s house in Catford, London.
And in 2016, Boyega publicly contacted Electronic Arts via Twitter to ask about an offline story mode, following the release of Star Wars Battlefront.
So the trailer doesn’t directly reveal anything new about the game, which mixes first and third-person perspectives, it builds the excitement that Boyega seems genuinely enthusiastic.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is coming from EA DICE in collaboration with Criterion Games and Motive Studios, fearuing content from the sequel trilogy. And also covering heroes from each of the movie eras. Which means Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, alongside Finn and Kylo Rend, or Darth Maul and Emperor Palpatine.
And free DLC will follow a seasonal schedule, rather than being paid content. Which is definilty good news. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be released on November 14th, 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Just try not to get confused with the 2005 game of the same name, developed by pandemic for the PC, PS2, original Xbox and other platforms. It’s still a good game, but the online support was dropped for everything except the PC version in 2014, with the third party GameRanger stepping in.
