Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will arrive for PC and consoles early in 2018. So Swedish indie developer Fatshark is starting to ramp up the information. That includes a new Warhammer: Vermintide 2 video, details and pre-orders opening up on Steam.
So it’s now been confirmed that you’ll face the dark, bloody and twisted Chaos faction alongside the famailiar horrors of the ratlike Skaven. Rumours surfaced from the initial teaser video for Vermintide 2, and it’s good to know there will be a bit more variation in the evil forces to fight. Particular as Chaos employs some particular lovely bad guys.
Once again you’ll team up as a group of 4 players to take on the combined forces of the Skaven and Chaos factions. In Warhammer: Vermintide 2, the choice of 5 different heroes now includes 15 unique careers. So you’ll be able to follow abailities, talents and weapons which best fit the way you play, as well as having a different appearance. Plus the Heroic Deeds System.
That levelling up follows talent trees to nable you to specialise more in what you find most effective, as you explore new levels set in and around the fortress city of Helmgart. It’s supposed to protect the Bretonnian border of the Empire, and obviously needs your help.
As always, the Skaven prefer to attack in large numbers, and not only do they have Chaos on their side, but this means a load of new horrible specials and bosses to take on. Fortunately you’ll at least get more relevant loot for your chosen career with improvements to the reward system.
You’ll need to fight your way through 13 levels to prevent the fall of the Empire. But at least you can have an audience cheering you on (or criticising) as Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will include Twitch Integration for live streaming.
So the Games Workship fantasy universe once again plays host to first person videogame violence. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be released for PC and consoles. The PC version looks likely to be the first to arrive, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 pre-orders are live now via Steam. The pre-order benefits include a 10% discount, access to a pre-order beta, and the upcoming DLC content, names Death on the Reik.
There’s no specific date set for PC or console release yet. But we’d imagine the consoles will follow fairly shortly after the PC version, if they don’t arrive on the same date. In the meantime, you can always get back into the first title, Warhammer: End Times Vermintide, which is pretty cheap now (if you shop around) after being originally released in 2015. Along with various DLC packs, the game sold more than 500,000 copies to justify Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
While Amazon have it at the best price for PS4 and PC, Game has the lowest price for the Xbox One at £19.99 for a new copy.
