A lawsuit has been filed against Activision Blizzard and social games company Zynga. The complaint by Walker Digitial alleges that a number of games infringe a July 2002 patent for a database-driven online distributed tournament system.
Games named in the complaint include both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops, alonside World of Warcraft, DJ Hero 2, and Zynga’s Mafia Wars, Fashion Wars and Special Forces. Walker Digital is seeking monetary damages – no amount was named in the nine-page complaint.
