You might not have expected any new launches for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, considering the subsequent releases of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops, but you’d be wrong, as it has been released for the new Mac App Store.
The app store was launched by Apple last week, and delivered one million app downloads in the first 24 hours – but will a game originally released in 2007 (2008 for the Mac) prove to be popular, considering 13 million Mac copies have already been sold? Additionally, it currently sells on the Mac App Store for $49.99 – more than a physical copy for most retailers…
Incidentally, you’ll notice that the listing is by Aspyr, the publishers/co-publishers of the Mac edition of the game – the one thing in favour of the Mac App Store is that games for the Apple platform are harder to track down – Game, Play.com, Gamestop currently don’t list Mac editions of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare online for example.
