You know when a home console has reached the end of its life when a portable handheld can run the same game.
The soon to be released Nintendo 3DS impressed me with it’s 3D visuals the other week at my local Game store. And then to learn that High Voltage Software’s exclusive Wii first-person shooter could run on that tiny screened device? Wow.
Okay, the Wii will be able to run the game smoother and that the 3DS version was of a demo build, but there is potential if the game were to be ported over.
Conduit 2 is the sequel to 2009’s Wii exclusive, The Conduit, produced by Sega. The story, based in the future, continues straight after the first game with gamers resuming the role of Secret Service agent, Michael Ford.
The developers at High Voltage will be utilising their games engine specifically optimised for the Wii, named the Quantum3 engine. There was no word on if a cut down version of the engine was used for the 3DS tech demo, although that will most likely be the case.
We’ll have more information on Conduit 2 closer to it’s UK release on April 22nd. As for knowing the 3DS can display some meaty visuals and probably play some FPS’s in 3D, would you play such game on a small screen?!
