Halo is epic. The storyline, the cut-scenes, the trilogy (plus ODST and Reach)… The whole series to many was a masterpiece.
Viewing some of the global stats on Bungie’s website also reveals that Halo’s well balanced multiplayer is still alive and kicking with over half a million players online this very moment and over 1.2 million games played in the last 24 hours. Well, that’s what I see on the Reach Online stats page. Oh and Bungie do have some really detailed stats. Yes, we’ve all seen them… Melee counts are probably reaching there millions!
So what better way to increase the numerical value of these stats then to release some new content? Well, Bungie are to do just that.
Last month on their site, Bungie released some news on the Defiant Map Pack detailing two additional multiplayer maps and an additional Firefight mission map for Reach. Three new maps which were developed by partners Certain Affinity so all credit should be geared toward them.
The three new maps are:
– Condemned, which is a 6-12 player map
– Highlands, which is a 8-16 player map and
– Unearthed, which is the only Firefight map for up to 4 players
The map pack will be available from March 15th on Xbox Live in exchange for 800 Microsoft points. In addition to three maps, players will also be pleased to learn that new Achievements (worth a total of 150 Gamerscore points) will be available.
Will you be purchasing this or has Halo’s time come to an end? Leave your thoughts below.
