This was inevitable. There was always going to be a third instalment after Modern Warfare 2’s release and major success. Modern Warfare 3 was always on the cards.
Most of the talk however, must be on who’s behind development of this title. Why? Well, Infinity Ward aren’t what they use to be. Okay okay, Treyarch have done a good job with Black Ops, but those multiplayer maps just don’t do it for me. Give me MW maps any day, although the latest Escalation maps are very much how I expected First Strike’s to be.
Today, it appears as though an official announcement from Activision will be out soon. It will need announcing soon if the November traditions are set to continue from the house of CoD. But who’s developing it?!
What do you guys think? Will the house of CoD turn to the break-away Respawn Entertainment team, comprising of the ex-IW duo Jason West and Vince Zampella to help with development? Or are Treyarch going to take on this beast? Do the left overs at IW have enough skills to go about MW3 without the two that made it a big hit? I guess we will learn soon.
Lets just hope the speculated November release date is true.
More news on MW3 when we learn something new.
Update:
Some news broke last night after Activision’s earnings were posted. It appears that Modern Warfare 3 will be going through some changes… Indifferent changes.
Beachhead, a new Activision studio announced back in February, was working exclusively on an innovative new digital platform for the Call of Duty community. It seems that this online universe is a feature in the new CoD.
So far, gamers have voiced their distaste towards an online universe, how do you think MW3 will play out yourself?! It’s meant to have a bigger better story… Does that sway you over still?! Leave your thoughts below.
