It seems many of us can’t wait to hear nor read about the imminent arrival of Activisions’ next Call of Duty title. We already know it’s to be Black Ops 2. And we knew there was a slot during tonights’ NBA basketball playoffs where the world reveal trailer was due to debut.
It’s all good to talk about this in advance… Up until you hear there has been a slight slip of the tongue (or finger in this case), with an earlier than planned release of screen shots and information. One biggy being that of the release date.
Firstly, the release date for America appears to be the 13th November 2012. Knowing how big CoD titles have become these last few years, a world wide simultaneous release is plausible, yet as you can imagine, that has not been confirmed… Yet.
Secondly, it appears that from the only obtainable screen shot from todays’ leak, Blops 2 will be set in the near future and will push “the bounderies of what fans have come to expect from the record-selling entertainment franchise,” and which “propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare.”
Sounds more Modern Warfare 4 like no?!
With the information extracted from Activisions’ official Call of Duty website (which has now been blocked off for those outside of Activisions’ IP addresses), we like many others cannot wait to see the reveal trailer.
Jump back later when we will surely have the reveal trailer at hand for all to see…
However, with supposed declining Modern Warfare 3 sales, is the end approaching the reigns’ of CoD? Or have the Modern Warfare title lost it’s edge since the loss of key developers?! Let us know your thoughts below.
