To PC gamers, the news that Call of Duty Ghosts will boast higher quality graphics comes as no surprise… They’ll probably turn their heads and continue to play Battlefield 3… On their PC… An already beautiful looking game which vastly surpasses the current console iterations.
Games on the PC have been vastly superior for many many years. The only reason many opt for consoles is due to simpleness of having one device that can play any game over the course of countless number of years and have no fear of requiring an upgrade because they don’t have a decent graphics card or processor. PC gaming is an expensive hobby. Especially if you want to play that awesome, highly rated, currently PC only title. Good example… 2007’s first person shooter, Crysis. Yeah, I was a sucker for that game without the rig to run it smoothly!
So it makes a change to hear PC versions of games are getting a little more love with dedicated teams working on the version and additional developer tools and packages to provide an extra layer of polish.
Mark Rubin, exclusive producer of this years’ CoD installment, was pleased to mention that “PC has its own set of assets” and “it’s going to look better than any Call of Duty we’ve ever made on PC.” This is due to the “even higher version” texture packages available over the next-gen consoles.
Well, no matter what happens between now and the launch of Ghosts, Activision will sure know how we PC gamers think of the title when we get our hands on it.
Are you going to pick up the PC version? If so, why? Graphics or gameplay? Comments below.
