Steam’s current Daily Deal! price reduction offers Far Cry 3 at its best price yet. Only released at the end of November and earning highly favourable scores and opinion from reviewers and players alike, Far Cry 3 and its Deluxe Edition are each at 50 percent off until 6PM, UK time, on September 10th.
That makes Far Cry 3 just £9.99 for the Standard Edition and £12.49 in Deluxe Edition form. The Deluxe Bundle DLC is also listed individually, still with the same 50 percent price drop. For current players of the ordinary Far Cry 3, that lowers the cost of a separate DLC pack to £3.49, $4.99 and €4.99 for each of the UK, North America and Europe.
In addition to the standard game and the Deluxe content listed below, there’s a free High Tides DLC pack that includes two maps and four skins for the co-op mode.
The details of the Far Cry 3 Deluxe Edition look like this:
- The Monkey Business Pack: Meet Hurk and his explosive bomb-carrying monkey in four heart-pounding missions and get two bonus ways to humiliate your friends in multi-player.
- The Lost Expeditions: Discover the secrets of the island’s lost World War II ruins in two suspenseful action missions, and unlock the power of a shotgun in a one-handed flare gun in multi-player.
- The Warrior Pack: Strike fear in your enemies with an exclusive dagger and get an early unlock of the tattoo editor in multi-player.
- The Predator Pack: Hunt four ferocious animals with the M-700 Predator Rifle in single-player and silently kill opponents with the unlocked Predator Bow in multi-player.
- The Survival Guide art book (PDF file): Discover unique artwork and insider information to help you survive the insanity of the island.
- The game soundtrack.
There’s a map editor and… Oh, who am I kidding? It’s got monkeys. Monkeys!
Must. Buy.
Important news relating to Far Cry 3 Deluxe Edition Content:
There are reports on the Steam forum of Far Cry 3’s extra content not being authorised. According to a customer there, Ubisoft’s support staff are aware of the DLC not unlocking and are advising that a solution will follow – potentially taking the form of it ‘just working’ on signing into the Uplay system one day or through a new content key that would be sent via e-mail. “Fairly soon” is the best indicator of when that will happen – so as ever, time will tell.
If you’d still like the additional game content, the best course of action is probably to buy now, log into your Uplay account at https://support.ubi.com/ and raise a support ticket. With any luck, it should help to hasten the arrival of a solution and you’ll be able to check on progress through the account’s pages. If you do have any issues, Ubisoft do have a customer support telephone number, which is 0844-3814143, and lines are open 3pm-7pm Monday to Friday.
