Onslaught is the first of four DLC packs for Call of Duty: Ghosts, due to appear on Xbox Live on January 28th, 2014. The Onslaught pack includes four new multiplayer maps, which will be Bayview, Containment, Fog and Ignition. It also includes a new dual-purpose Assault/Sniper rifle and the first of a 4-part Extinction story, Nightfall.
The new gun is named the Maverick, and looks to be interesting considering the range of sniper, marksman and assault rifles in the game already.
The following names have already been revealed for the remaining DLC packs – Devastation, Invasion and Nemesis, which collectively spell ODIN.
Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught Maps:
- Fog: Small map set in a misty mire
- Bayview: Another smaller map set on a California boardwalk
- Containment: Yet another smaller map, this time in a South American dry river bed
- Ignition: Set in a Florida space facility, including player-triggered rocket launches. This map is a re-imagining of the Scrapyard map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty Ghosts: Onslaught – Nightfall:
Nightfall is the first part of a four episode story taking place in the Extinction game mode. It features two new characters, and is set in an Alaskan wilderness. You’re tasked with eliminating an extra terrestrial menace, which is rumoured to include a three-story high monster.
In addition to the teaser below, there will also be new enemies in the shape of Spiders.
The DLC Pack can be bought individually for $14.99 (£9), or you can save on all four packs with the Call of Duty Ghosts Seasn Pass for $49.99 (£30).
There’s no word on when the DLC will arrive for Playstation platforms due to the time-limited exclusivity deal between Microsoft and Activision.
