Star Wars Battlefront will not include a single player story mode when it is released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in November 2015.
Instead, you will complete ‘crafted missions’ either on your own, or with a friend via offline split screen or online co-op. It would appear that two-player co-op is a main feature in the game, with both participating players able to share unlocks, experience points and spawn at the others location.
In some ways it’s not surprising that there’s no story mode given the complexities and arguments that can arise over the canonical version of the fictional universe storyline.
In terms of online multiplayer, there will be a 40-player limit for games. The game takes initial inspiration from from the first three films of the Star Wars series. But to celebrate the new movie in December, a free downloadable level will be available, including two multiplayer maps. The freebie will be set on the desert planet of Jakku seen in trailers for the new film. However, in term of storyline, the level will take place just after The Return of the Jedi.
