In a story on ESPN, it has been revealed that Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch, will feature as a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 villain. “The whole game is Beast Mode”, Lynch stated in the story which will be featured in this month’s ESPN The Magazine, an issue dedicated to eSports.
Call of Duty has been known to include celebrities in previous titles, notably Kevin Spacey in Advanced Warfare, but the NFL star is the first athlete to appear in the game.
Marshawn Lynch will feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 as a villain, it has been confirmed.
In a visit to the Treyarch studios, Lynch was put through the full motion capture session to bring his character to life within the game, and it has been reported that Lynch has been a huge fan of the franchise for a long while.
“For Marshawn’s role, we needed an imposing figure,” says Mark Lamia, Treyarch studio head. “When we learned he’s a huge fan, we thought it’d be awesome to have him inside our game.”
“So I’m a villain,” Lynch says gleefully.
“Marshawn Lynch is the perfect match for Call of Duty,” says Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision. “I mean, he’s a guy who fills stadiums, crushes competitors and has a Beast Mode. What could be more COD than that?”
