Sometimes Overwatch players are capable of some beautiful genius. Obviously Blizzard has released a range of special events since the game was originally launched. But having seen this wonderful improvisation, we have to wonder – is this the best Overwatch MiniGame ever?
Like many of humankinds greatest inventions, it’s surprisingly simple. Celebrate summer with a quick game of ‘Hog Ball’.
Roadhog is a big part of what might be the best Overwatch minigame ever invented.
The concept of Hog Ball is easy. It’s volleyball. Except you’re using the rather large and rotund Roadhog as the ball.
But how do you propel the hook flinging monster into the air? Two teams of Luccio, obviously. Just use the Soundwave (or ‘Boop Cannon’), to hurl Roadhog into the air. Just keep your movement boosted and your cannon loaded, and you can keep the big fellow in the air for sometime.
Obviously for the final touch, you still need a net. So step in noble Reinhardt with a shield perfectly suited to the task.
And there you have it. The glorious new sport of Hog Ball, which may just be the best Overwatch Minigame ever. Sorry Uprising. And thank you to genius Redditor, 33see for capturing the dawning of a new sport.
Want to recreate it? Just set up your custom game. The map is obviously Lijiang Tower Night Market, using the daytime version introduced for Capture the Flag to give the right summer volleyball feel.
