Xbox owners might want to free up some space on their hard drives this month. If you’re a Gold subscriber, Battlefield 3 will be free on Xbox Live in September 2017. The Xbox 360 edition of the game will be available to download from September 16-30th, and is backwards compatible to play on the Xbox One.
The 11th game in the Battlefield series originally came out back in October 2011. It included a single player campaign which features four characters fighting in a fictional “War of 2014”. Which means you get to be an M1 Abrams tank operator and an F/A-18F Super Hornet weapon systems officer as well as fighting on foot with both the U.S Marines and Russian GRU. It also has a co-op mode, and multiplayer familiar to Battlefield fans.
So while it might be almost 6 years old, it’s a pretty decent game to pick up for free. And there should be enough people encouraged to try it or revist the game for multiplayer lobbies.
