Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Confirmed for October 2018

March 12, 2018 By DanThornton Leave a Comment

You can now start getting excited, with Call of Duty Black Ops 4 confirmed for October 2018. The idea of a return to the Treyarch Black Ops series has been talked about for a while, and now we know it’s official. And Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be released on Friday, October 12, 2018. That’s a month earlier than the usual November date used for pretty much every Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Confirmed for October 2018

So what do we know about Call of Duty Black Ops 4? Well Activision hasn’t revealed much aside from confirming what we already suspected. Black Ops 4 is being developed by series lead studio Treyarch once more, and will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. There’s no word about a Switch version yet.

We do know that the use of the line of four numerals is valid in Roman numerals, as interchangeable with IV. It appears that the PC version may use Blizzard’s Battle.net. And there will be a Community Reveal Event in May 17, 2018 when everyone will find out more. But you can already pre-order the game if you’re confident it’ll be a must have purchase.

Apparently Activision also felt the need to reveal the numerals in real life with some metal work.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the 15th main game in the series, and the 7th of the Treyarch creations if you include Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. They started the current story arc with Call of Duty: World at War which set the universe, characters and story references for Black Ops and two sequels.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 was the last Treyarch game, released in 2015. That title featured a single player campaign set in 2065, along with zombies and multiplayer modes. Interestingly, Treyarch has just released a patch for the game which adds a remake of the Infected mode originally from Modern Warfare 3, and a new Redwood Snow map which is a cold version of the popular Redwood map. The patch also included ‘General performance updates’.

Pre-Order Call of Duty Black Ops 4:
